Adobe Photoshop is, just as expected since we're dealing with such a powerful application, pretty difficult to configure, but not if you're a pro and you know exactly which are the options you need the most. Sure, it may take a few minutes to read them all and see which ones would suit your needs, but still, it's a powerful tool and every single second spent to configure it might make your job a bit easier.
Working in Photoshop is definitely a pro's job so don't even bother to try edit your photos if you don't have any idea about red-eye correction, sharpening, color management and special effects. The guys at Adobe struggled to make all things easier to work with and somehow they managed it, although using Photoshop without knowing the tools bundled in it will surely give you headaches. Don't worry though, there are a lot of tutorials out there on the Internet, and even the most experienced guys are still learning to use certain Photoshop tasks, so it's all a matter of time.
Since we're talking about a powerful photo-editing tool, it would be natural to expect huge hardware requirements, so yes, running Photoshop on older computers is almost impossible. We had no problem though, but 1GB of RAM and 1GB of available hard-disk space for installation is a must.
